The Rooted Guarantee. One year, money back

  • Measure your tree against the numbers above the day it arrives. Misses the spec, we refund you in full and you keep the tree.
  • Your guarantee begins the day your tree is planted, and runs one full growing season.
  • Money back to your card, your choice of refund or replacement. We pay the freight.
  • No photo bureaucracy, no registration, no arbitration clause.

A sawtooth oak with no cage is a deer snack. This is the boring hardware that decides whether your food plot still exists in five years: a five-foot welded mesh guard, two steel stakes and UV ties. Install it the day you plant. Deer will strip a four-foot oak to a bare stick in one night, and then they will come back for the regrowth.

What actually ships

  • Guard: 5 ft tall x 18 in diameter welded wire mesh, galvanized, 2 in x 4 in opening
  • Stakes: Two 6 ft steel T-posts, green painted
  • Ties: Six UV-stable zip ties
  • Covers: One tree per kit
  • Shipped as: Mesh rolled flat, stakes bundled. Ships separately from live trees

Mature size

  • Service life: 5 to 7 years in the field before the mesh needs replacing
  • Remove when: Trunk caliper is over about 2 in and the lowest branches are above browse height, roughly 5 ft

Where it grows

  • Required for: Sawtooth oak, chinquapin oak and any oak planted on land with deer pressure
  • Honest note: This will not stop a buck rubbing a 2 in trunk in October. For rub protection you also want the stakes set tight against the trunk

Ship window and your cancellation right

If we cannot ship inside that window we will email you before it closes with a revised date and a one-click cancel link. This is the FTC Mail Order Rule (16 CFR Part 435) and we would rather you use it than be surprised.

The spec is the promise

Measure your tree against the "What actually ships" numbers above on the day it arrives. If it misses the spec, photograph it and we refund you in full and you keep the tree. We are not going to send you a stick and a photograph of somebody else's oak.

About this image: our product photography is an illustrative rendering of a mature, well-grown specimen of this species. It is not a photograph of the individual plant you will receive. The written "What actually ships" spec above is the binding description of your tree.
