Free over $99. Real dates, not "3 to 5 business days". And four states we will not ship a live tree to, with the reason.
What it costs
Every order of $99 or more ships free, automatically, no code. Below that, boxed trees are priced by weight and distance:

Three things that do not travel by parcel
- 25-Tree Acre Pack. Two pallets, LTL common carrier, curbside. $349 Texas / $549 neighbouring states / $849 elsewhere. Ask for a liftgate at checkout if you do not have a forklift.
- 15-Gallon Ranch Grade cedar elm, $89, Texas only. An 8 to 10 ft tree goes on a pallet, not in a box. We deliver it anywhere in Texas on our own truck or a Texas partner. We do not ship this grade out of state, at any price.
- Ranch Root Starter, $4.95 flat, free on small-goods orders of $49+. It is a 4 oz packet and it travels separately from a five-foot carton.

Every product page prints its window above the price. Here is the whole catalogue:

Why we hold trees until fall
Because a tree planted into a Texas August is a tree you will replace. Texas Arbor Day is the first Friday in November for exactly this reason. Our fall windows are a hold, deliberately, and we will not sell you a way around them. The largest online nursery in the country has no seasonal shipping gate at all, and their review pages are the argument for ours.
Why the pre-sell window is 21 days and not 30
Thirty days is the legal default you get for free by saying nothing, so promising it buys no credibility. Twenty-one is a real promise, it is genuinely achievable on a single nursery run, and it still leaves us nine days of head-room. The 25-Tree Acre Pack is carved out at 30 days because two pallets is a different logistics problem and pretending otherwise is how a store ends up owing cancellation notices.
If we are going to miss a window
If we cannot ship inside that window we will email you before it closes with a revised date and a one-click cancel link. If the new date is 30 days or less past the original, you can wait or cancel. Your choice. If we need more than 30 days, your order is cancelled and refunded automatically unless you tell us to hold it. Refunds go back to your original card within 7 business days. This is the FTC Mail Order Rule (16 CFR Part 435) and we would rather you use it than be surprised.
Read that middle sentence again, because most stores have it backwards: past thirty days, silence cancels your order and returns your money. You do not have to do anything to get your money back. You only have to act if you want to keep waiting.
The four states we cannot reach
We do not ship live nursery stock to California, Arizona, Alaska or Hawaii, and you will not be able to select them at checkout.
California and Arizona both require origin-state agricultural certification for incoming nursery stock. We do not hold it yet. We could quietly take the order and cancel it a week later, which is what a broker would do. Instead we removed the states from the shipping zone so the checkout cannot accept them in the first place.
Alaska and Hawaii are outside the contiguous states, and a live tree does not survive that trip in a box at any price we would be willing to charge you.

The day your tree arrives
- Open the carton that day. Five days in a box is the outside limit and it is the only thing that will void the Rooted Guarantee.
- Expect some leaf drop. Mexican sycamore defoliates in transit more than an oak does. Possumhaw ships leafless on purpose in the dormant window. Scratch the bark with a thumbnail. Green means alive.
- Measure it. Height from the soil line, caliper 6 inches up. Compare to the "What actually ships" block on the product page. If it misses, that is a refund and you keep the tree.
- Water it in and cage it. Deer will strip a 4 ft oak overnight.
